About the Urban Development Authority
The Urban Development Authority (UDA) is committed to guiding and supporting strategic development across Bermuda’s Economic Empowerment Zones (EEZs).
Our goal is to create vibrant, resilient, and sustainable communities by encouraging investment, enhancing infrastructure, and improving the quality of life for all residents.
We collaborate with government, private stakeholders, and the public to identify development opportunities and shape dynamic urban environments.

Somerset EEZ
Aiming to boost economic activity and connectivity in the West End, the Somerset EEZ supports small business development, tourism enhancements, and housing opportunities.
North East Hamilton EEZ
Focused on revitalizing Hamilton’s eastern neighborhoods, this zone promotes mixed-use development, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
South East hamilton EEZ
A key corridor within the City of Hamilton, this zone encourages commercial expansion, creative industries, and mixed-use development to support urban renewal.
St. George’s EEZ
Centered around the UNESCO World Heritage town, this zone emphasizes heritage preservation, sustainable tourism, and infrastructure renewal.
